biodiesel forum - Making BioDiesel

There are many pros and cons of using a Biodiesel fuel. Biodiesel fuel is becoming a popular alternative to regular gasoline and diesel that we all buy at the corner gas station.

The nice thing about a biodiesel processor is that it is relatively small, meaning you can set one up in a shed or under an awning in your backyard. Biodiesel is widely available today. Biodiesel's local resources can be cheaply grown and are excellent for the environment.

And conversion kits are readily available for older diesel engines. Biodiesel is defined as mono-alkyl esters of long chain fatty acids derived from vegetable oils or animal fats which conform to specifications for use in diesel engines. Initially you should manufacture little amount of oil so that when you become acquainted with the process, you can make biodiesel at home at a larger scale.

Biodiesel can be used in its pure form or it may also be blended with petroleum diesel. Biodiesel will gel in very cold temperatures.
